  • Stewed fruit crumble

Here's what Emma Moss and his guests have to say about the event:

Emma Moss says:
Family Sunday lunch

I have been known to say I would NEVER cook a chicken at home because it is sooo easy to grab one from the deli. So when I saw the menu Jamie had chosen for us, I was slightly concerned but thought I'd give it a go. It was so easy, and the smell which came from the pan when the lemon, garlic and potatoes were boiling was unbelievable! I never like to touch meat with my hands, but there I was massaging in olive oil and salt into the chicken, and then shoving a lemon where the sun don't shine!!! It really was no bother and the results were fantastic, now I will NEVER grab a chicken from the deli again, the results from cooking your own are far superior!
And as for the stewed fruit crumble - sexy in the extreme. I always just bunged it in water with a teaspoon of sugar school-dinner-stylee. The depth of flavour was amazing, and the crumble buttery and melty, no more packets for me! I am definately going to give Jamies other suggestions for the fruit crumble a try, soon! (What diet!?)
Everyone really enjoyed the food, and the simple menu meant I had time to really enjoy the family time without being stuck in the kitchen. Throwing everything on one tray was so easy, and the spinach takes less than a minute to cook and tasted divine - even my two year old who usually steers away from anything green loved it.
The leftovers made fantastic bubble and squeek the next day!
