Throwing a party? Make it an Elvis night! Homemade burgers, chips and coke floats for the kids. Delicious chicken Maryland, chop salad and Margaritas for the adults! It's food fit for the King!
One of the best meals in the world is burger and chips, and this burger is fantastic. A useful tip when it comes to mince is to buy some good chuck steak, either pulse it in a food processor or ask your butcher to mince it up for you - that way you always know what's in it. And the chips are so fantastic, far healthier than the deep-fried variety.
This is a really quick and convenient dinner to make - great for Saturday nights with your family. Although the idea of cooking chicken with sweetcorn and banana may sound grotesque to you, it really does work! You can use tinned sweetcorn, but remember that the flavour won't be anything near as good as fresh.
I've had this salad loads of times in the States - the best place to try it. Especially in really cool, quaint 1930s style diners, or what are called 'chop houses'. You can order not only a salad, but a 'chop steak' as well. This is kind of like a burger but the meat is cut a lot coarser and is then pressed back into a steak shape, as opposed to a burger. It's served with fries and salad.
This is a ridiculous dessert which brings back a lot of old memories of when I lived in my parents' pub. I used to make coke floats for all my mates - we would all creep into the pub between lunch and dinner service and make them up secretly.

Now come on, if you're silly enough to try and match a wine to this then make it something cheap and cheerful! My advice would be to kick back, don your white jumpsuit and your blue suede shoes and sip the night away on Margaritas - I would!
